Join us this Sunday, June 14th at 4 PM for the premiere episode of Culture Hub PDX, the latest addition to PRP’s Podcast Co-op. Host Veronica Bisesti will explore compelling and urgent social topics and cultural events affecting the Portland community.

In the first episode, host Veronica Bisesti speaks with non-profit leader and recent Metro candidate Cameron Whitten, licensed professional counselor and trauma worker Chanel Walker-Harris, and award-winning writer and published author S. Renee Mitchell about the social unrest and long-overdue changes in status quo brought about by the killing of George Floyd.

Cameron Whitten – One of Portland’s most famous young radicals, a nonprofit leader, and recent candidate for Metro Council District 5. Whitten has a long record of advocating for affordable housing, racial justice, and LGBT rights. Most recently he co-founded Black Resilience Fund, an emergency fund dedicated to healing and resilience by providing immediate resources to Black Portlanders.

Chanel Walker-Harris – A Licensed Professional Counselor and trauma therapy provider. Walker-Harris currently works at two Portland high schools as a school-based therapist. With a diverse background in substance abuse and mental health counseling, her areas of focus include depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, LGBTQA+, POC Issues, and stress management.

S. Renee Mitchell – 2019 Spirit of Portland award winner, published author, poet, artist, social justice advocate, and self-described creative revolutionist. Mitchell is also the visionary and Principal Consultant for I Am M.O.R.E. (Making Other Resiliency Experiences), a heart-centered, and youth-focused initiative to help young people of color transcend their trauma and reclaim their inner power through the transformational process of storytelling.
