Veronica Bisesti
Host of Subculture (Wednesday: 7pm – 8pm) & Culture Hub PDX (Sunday: 4pm and on-demand) and station Artist Liaison
As an only child, music was my playmate. I had a pair of headphones the size of a car and once those were wrapped around my ears, I would get lost in the music and words. Not much has changed…except the size of the headphones.

Although I have an appreciation for all music, my heart is in a mosh pit. Give me a fuzzy guitar and some delay, and I’m in heaven.
Here’s a little bit more about me and what I do with PRP:
- Produce and host weekly on air show – Subculture – stellar retro-alt plus a whole lot more
- Host of Culture Hub PDX, the newest member of the PRP podcast co-op, focusing on social issues and cultural events affecting the Portland community
- Maintain and develop the stations’ Drop-in Session and Video Session platforms – on air musician interviews, performances and video submissions – with a focus on diversity and community representation (check out my “By the way” below for more information on both platforms)
- Actively involved in ongoing station fundraising efforts, community outreach and artist development
- Received my BA from UC San Diego where I majored in Communications with an emphasis on Culture and Social Force (Media’s influence on social behavior, styles and traditions) and minored in Music History.
By the way…if you are a band or solo artist thinking about dropping by the PRP studio to play a new tune or promote an upcoming event, please visit our Drop In Session Request page for more info (I’ll make it easy, click here). If you’re a good fit for the PRP airwaves, I’ll be in touch! While we are in the midst of social distancing and not offering Drop-in Sessions, we are taking video submissions from local artists (we still want to see your faces even if we can’t have you in the studio) which we will promote on our website (check out the local artists we’ve spotlighted here) and our social media platforms. For more details and to submit your video, complete this form.
