Helium Comedy Club was host to the final night of competition that winnowed a spreadsheet full of hams into 12 finalists who battled it out to determine Portland’s Funniest Person: that turned out to be Steven Wilbur.
Willamette Week reports Wilbur cracked up the sold out house with his impression of Jay-Z doing “bad Christian rap,” followed by “a handy pneumonic device for remembering the order of the presidents that was both an impressive feat of recitation and a hilarious joke.”
First rated by audiences, Tuesday’s final round featured a panel of official judges.
Finalists included San Francisco transplant Amy Miller, skateboarder Sean Jordan, last-year’s first runner up Gabe Dinger, artist/photographer/journalist Jason Traeger, Christian Ricketts, Stephanie Purtle,Anthony Lopez, Bri Pruett, Adam Pasi, Jacob Christopher and Curtis Cook.
