You gotta love those Belmont Goats! They’ve become such objects of adoration that – threatened with eviction by impending development – the goats were offered a new home. Now they need help with moving expenses, so the owners are turning to crowdsourcing.
The herd’s caretakers are asking the public for $7500 on Indiegogo to help get the goats installed in their new digs.
In the 36 hours since the campaign was launched Sunday night, the goats have drummed up nearly $3000. OPB reports the funds will cover insurance, a use permit and construction on the goats’ future plot in Lents neighborhood — a move that was approved by Portland Development Commission.
