At Portland Radio Project, we believe some of the most important stories in our communities are being told by the nonprofit organizations working every day to address challenges, create opportunities, and improve lives. Through Community Voices, we’ve had the privilege of sharing those stories for years.
This past year, a partnership with Meyer Memorial Trust allowed us to expand that work and shine a spotlight on eleven organizations serving communities across Oregon.
What began as a partnership designed to feature four nonprofit organizations quickly grew into eleven conversations with organizations addressing a wide range of issues including affordable housing, environmental conservation, youth development, racial justice, reproductive justice, disability inclusion, domestic violence services, civic engagement, and community health.
Featured organizations included:
Each organization shared its unique story, the challenges facing the communities it serves, and the work being done to create meaningful change throughout Oregon.
In addition to airing on Portland Radio Project, each interview has been archived online, creating a growing collection of community-centered conversations that organizations can continue to share through their websites, newsletters, media kits, social media channels, and outreach efforts.
We are deeply grateful to Meyer Memorial Trust for supporting this work and helping us amplify nonprofit voices from across the state.
We’re also grateful to every guest who took time to share their expertise, passion, and vision with our listeners.

And we’re just getting started. Thanks to continued support from Meyer Memorial Trust, a new round of Community Voices interviews is already in development, bringing even more nonprofit stories and community voices to the airwaves.
Organizations interested in being considered for a future Community Voices interview should keep an eye on communications from Meyer Memorial Trust in the coming weeks for information about how to express interest and share their story.
