Williams & Russell Community Development Corporation is leading a powerful effort to bring restorative development to North Portland — transforming a historically significant site into a space rooted in community, opportunity, and repair.

Azalea Renfield, CEO and Executive Director, joined us for this Community Voices episode alongside Deputy Executive Director Ta’Neshia Renae and President Bryson Davis. We talked about the history behind the Williams and Russell site, the impact of urban renewal on Portland’s Black community, and what it means to build something intentionally restorative in that same space.

Take a listen to our conversation to learn more about the project, the vision behind it, and what comes next.

This episode of PRP’s Community Voices was produced in partnership with Meyer Memorial Trust. Together, we’re helping amplify nonprofit voices across Oregon.
