A woman remains hospitalized in serious but not life-threatening condition at OHSU, after a semi-truck hit her and one other women in a roadside work crew on I-5 yesterday. The women, both inmates, were struck around 10:30 yesterday morning near Wilsonville. KGW reports witnesses say the the driver told them he choked on some coffee and blacked out just before the accident. He was transported to Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center.

I-5 traffic was snarled for several hours. Two of the three southbound lanes of I-5 were blocked at the North Wilsonville exit, and a section of Southwest Boones Ferry Road that parallels the freeway was also closed. The accident remains under investigation.
