The Oregon State Fair is in full swing until Labor Day.
The 149th edition features the usual fair fare — including mouth-watering, waist expanding comfort food, thrilling rides (check out the Slingshot!), cows, pigs, horses, sheep, as well as live music from national and Pacific Northwest favorites.
But, as some carnival barker (plenty of those on the Fairgrounds in Salem too) might say: “Wait! There’s more!”
PRP was all over the fair on Saturday, August 23.
During our six-hour visit, which featured a LIVE remote, we indulged ourselves in spectacular music – Ziggy Marley, Ty Curtis, and Ben Rice, checked out the FFA Livestock exhibitions, watched in wonder as the X-Treme Air Dogs soared in Dogtown, rode the Fair Lift, and spent way too much time indulging ourselves on soft serve ice cream provided by the Oregon Dairy Women. Wow!
We also talked with Dan Cox, the Oregon State Fair’s Marketing Director.
