The search for a new location for the Right 2 Dream Too homeless rest area is under way in earnest, now that the Portland City Council has approved a complex deal to fund it. R2DToo gets $846,000 out of a to secure and possibly renovate a new location. Its current spot at NW Fourth and Burnside is considered a prime development spot.
The Oregonian reports four of the five city commissioners voted in favor of the deal, but Commissioner Dan Saltzman excused himself from the vote. Saying he couldn’t support the deal but didn’t want to delay it to no avail, he left the chamber instead.
