Timber companies are spraying more herbicides than ever around Triangle Lake in Lane County. That’s according to an analysis of government documents released over the weekend. Environmental health group Beyond Toxics says herbicide use increased over fifty percent just from 2009 to 2011. Residents in the area around Triangle Lake asked for an investigation after many of them began getting sick. Toxicology tests of forty-three residents all showed levels of the herbicides 2,4-D and atrizine in their urine.
