A new report on Aljazeera America deems Portland the whitest major city in the US. According to the report, only 6% of the population identifies as Black.
A Willamette Week article, however, claims that a Seattle Times story from 2011 found Portland to be the third whitest city in the US.
Either way though, there’s no denying we live in a very white city.
The Aljazeera video report follows 27 year-old photographer Initisar Abioto who looks to photograph Black people in downtown Portland.
