We had an opportunity to chat with our favorite Korean Prog Fairy – ok, perhaps she’s the only self-proclaimed Korean Prog Fairy we know – nonetheless, June Magnolia is our favorite Korean Prog Fairy and we chatted with this delightfully creative soul for our latest PRP Drop-In Session.
With the June 2022 release of “Memory Palace” (the bands’ sophomore album) and the “Top Shelf” notice for their 2021 NPR’s Tiny Desk contest entry, this ethereal neo-folk musical experience is one you don’t want to miss.
And here’s your opportunity to catch June Magnolia LIVE….
TIGER TIGER, PDX’ first AAPI music festival, is this Sunday July 17th at Fernhill Park. Not only will you be treated to the musical likes of June Magnolia, the line-up also includes Joe Kye and Surrija. What? Wow!
TIGER TIGER is a gathering of AAPI musicians, creatives, and organizations; a sharing of diverse AAPI stories, expressions, and backgrounds to build a stronger sense of community identity. Inspired by the healing power of music, TIGER TIGER aspires to provide a space to listen to the vibrations and experiences of AAPI community members. Did we mention it’s a FREE festival? Yea…it’s FREE!
Take a listen to our interview with June (below), hear tunes “Ella”, “New Love” and “Revolution Around the Sun” and then get yourself over to Fernhill Park this Sunday at 4pm for an amazing afternoon of AAPI joy and celebration!
