A Salem couple and their 18-pound sheltie, Dante, are leaving for New York Thursday to compete in the Westminster Kennel Club dog show’s agility trial. The event, Saturday afternoon, is a first in two respects: It’s the first agility trial, and the first time Westminster will allow mixed-breeds in any part of any event. The Statesman Journal reports on what it takes to get to the finals.
