Portland’s newest bridge, the Tilikum Crossing, won’t open until late next year. But if you’re a bicyclist, you can cross the bridge before the rest of us.
OPB reports next year’s participants in the Providence bridge Pedal will have access a month before everybody else. Registration for next year’s bridge pedal event is now open at the Bridge Pedal Blog.
Organizers say: “Providence Bridge Pedal will be the inaugural public event on the bridge, giving you an advance opportunity to bike or walk across Tilikum Crossing before its official opening. All Bridge Pedal riders (except Kids Pedal) will cross the bridge twice. This is in addition to the continuing Providence Bridge Pedal tradition of biking over the car-free upper decks of the Marquam and Fremont bridges.”
