From bad to worse in the labor dispute at Portland schools: Teachers voted Wednesday night to authorize a strike. But, they softened the impact slightly by setting a walkout date of February 20, instead of in ten days. According to The Oregonian’s Nicole Dungca, who carefully tracks this story, more mediation is scheduled this weekend – one more chance to avoid the first teacher strike in Portland Public Schools history.
