The 17th annual Oregon Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony and concert is being held Saturday October 12th at Aladdin Theater and what a night it’s gonna be!

OMHOF Board members Terry Currier and Alex Steininger dropped by Sounds of PDX to give us the scoop on this night of music, celebration and confirmation of just how much talent we have here in the state of Oregon.

Inductees this year include Blitzen Trapper, The Exploding Hearts, Laura Veirs, The Obituaries, Robbie Laws, Gary Fountaine, Jenny Conley, Darcelle, Steve Reischman, John Nilsen, Bob Dietsche and Tony Lash. Honors go out to Portugal. The Man for Artist of the Year and Eyelids for Album of the Year.

And if seeing all those folks celebrated isn’t enough, they’ll be concert performances by Casey Neill & The Norway Rats, Laura Veirs and The Obituaries PLUS a live auction with autographed guitars from Peter Frampton, Paul Stanley, The Decemberists, and more.

The OMHOF does so much more than just recognize the massive talent in our state – they are dedicated to the development, revitalization, invention, and expansion of music education in Oregon’s public and private educational institutions.

Take a listen to Terry and Alex ⬇️⬇️⬇️ (plus a bit of a concert tease from The Obituaries) and grab your tickets here. It is truly a night you won’t want to miss.

This Drop-in Session was made possible in part by grants from the Oregon Cultural Trust, RACC and The Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation.
