RUDEBOY RADIO, the latest addition to PRP’s curated shows, is hitting the airwaves on Saturday, February 26th, at noon! DJ Ray will be taking you on a journey every week exploring that synergy between Hip Hop and Reggae music from artists telling their stories from the streets of Jamaica to our own backyards. Ray’s goal is to bring to his community of listeners some flavor and culture from his own heritage and give people an experience of discovery mixed with nostalgia.

Originally from Chicago, Ray spent most of his “Wonder Years” in Texas in and around the Dallas/Ft Worth area. His musical education began with an older sister who filled his home with sounds of the 80’s synth music of that time and parents of Belizean and Jamaican origins who exposed him to a mix of Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, Jimmy Cliff, and Bob Marley.

As a teenager, he discovered groups like Tribe Called Quest, Pharcyde, and The Hieroglyphics crew which became the music that ultimately defined him.

As a DJ for PRP, Ray will encapsulate this musical journey of classic and underground Hip Hop and its fusion with Reggae. An afternoon to celebrate Life, Love, and Revolution.

Tune in to Rudeboy Radio every Saturday at 12:00 PM on 99.1 FM or stream here.
