Episodic violence at a Southeast Portland nightclub has prompted neighbors to demand its liquor license be suspended. The New Copper Penny, in the Lents neighborhood, has seen periodic shootings – two in two weeks – and Adam Simmons, who lives nearby, says something has to give. ”It’s constantly an attractor of violence in a neighborhood that really doesn’t need any more things working against it,” Simmons told KGW. He called for the OLCC to immediately suspend the club’s liquor license.
