Sounds of PDX welcomed Portland based Chicano rocker Joshua Josue to the studio and HE welcomed US along his musical journey.

Joshua released his debut full-length album Beneath the Sand (on Electric Chololand Records) on August 9 and celebrated with a fantastic show at Mission Theater that same night.

With two tracks from the album already under consideration for GRAMMY nominations, Beneath the Sand is a genre-defying album that blends the grit of Americana with the soul of Latin folk and rock ‘n’ roll. This stunning journey through loss, love, and rebirth is a must-listen for fans of artists like Steve Earle, Alejandro Escovedo, Jesse Wells, Richie Valens, and Los Lobos.

Fortunately for our PRP listeners, Joshua had guitar in hand and treated us to a live rendition of the title track from Beneath the Sand. You’ll hear that PLUS more in our interview ⬇️

This Drop-in Session was made possible in part by grants from the Oregon Cultural Trust, RACC and The Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation.
