When there’s an injured-eagle story, Katy Muldoon is on it for the Oregonian. This awesome bald eagle was found with a broken wing, unable to fly, on West Hayden Island several days ago.

The Audubon Society has been taking care of it, so Monday — when it needed an x-ray, the VCA Rock Creek Animal Hospital provided one, at no charge. Here’s Katy’s photo of Dr. David Barno listening to the eagle’s heart with a stethoscope.
