Solar World Hillsboro is bucking the tide of its company and it’s industry – emerging as a bright spot amid news from its German parent that revenue dropped 26 percent in the first nine months of this year.

The Hillsboro solar module production facility is the company’s American headquarters – which is undergoing a 400-million-dollar reconstruction at the moment – supported by property and business energy tax credits.

Oregonian reporter Richard Read knows a fair amount about what this week’s report out of Germany might mean to workers at Hillsboro.
