Sounds of PDX with special co-host, Aron Schur.

My co-host this week on the show was singer-songwriter, Aron Schur. I spoke with Aron about songwriting and the sometimes delicate process of creating art. We brought in a hand full of songs from artists that we felt represented both interesting and ground breaking styles of songwriting. Some of the artists Aron brought in for us were Marty Robins, Nick Drake, and Radiohead. Also in the playlist was Jeff Buckley, Ani DiFranco, and local artists Berahman, Moody Little Sister, Colin Ranney, and Sarah Vitort. Our PDX Spotlight artists of the week were Liz Vice and My Brothers And I. During our interview we also got to hear an original song from Aron called “Halfway Home” which showcased his outstanding vocals and songwritring. I really enjoyed my time with Aron this week and hope to have him back on soon.

Please enjoy our interview with singer song-writer, Aron Schur.

I host "Sounds of PDX" every Tuesday from 7-9pm.

At my core, I am a musician, songwriter, producer, studio owner/engineer, and, most importantly, a lover of all things music. It is my goal to help connect listeners to local artists by providing music and live show reviews. I believe we should all be searching for the next thing that inspires us.

I am originally from Arizona, where over many years, I played in several different independent bands in the Phoenix and Tucson areas. I put in many, many hours of grassroots-style promotion in order to get my bands heard. I am extremely lucky to now live in Portland, OR, where we have one of the most vibrant music scenes in the nation.
