Combine the inspiring and informative talks of TEDx with the best of both the local and world-wide food and beverage industries entrepreneurs and innovators, and you have FoodWorx. The brainchild of Erik Wolf, the FoodWorx conference is designed to give attendees a single-day experience that cannot be had any other way.

Sponsored by the World Food Travel Association, Built Oregon, Sage Restaurant Group, the Food Innovation Center at OSU, Portland State University, and Water Avenue Coffee, FoodWorx gives attendees insight into the fun, unexpected and interesting ways that food impacts our daily lives.

FoodWorx came to be when Erik Wolf realized that the benefits of TEDx had no equivalent within the food and beverage industry. Designed to have the learning benefits such as TEDx and the fun of a major food festival, FoodWorx delivers an experience to satisfy both the serious foodies and culinary entrepreneurs as well as those who simply love food and would like to learn more about the food industry.

FoodWorx for 2016 will be emceed by Sarah Pool, known in the Pacific Northwest as The Kale Queen. Sarah founded, and is the CEO of, Pacific Superfood Snacks (which among other healthy products, makes kale chips), holds both and M.A. and B.A. from U.C. Berkley, and is committed to helping youth learn how to create socially conscious businesses.

Presenters for FoodWorx 2016 will included; Peter Zandee of Tony’s Chocolonely, a slave-free chocolate company; Jenn David Connolly, an expert in the design of food packaging; Timothy Nishimoto, musician with Pink Martini and writer of the blog TourEatDrink.com; and Dr. Natalie Kather with Stephen Cherniske, talking about death by sugar.

FoodWorx 2016 will be held Saturday, February 20th, from 8:30 AM till 5:00 PM on the campus of Portland State University on the third floor of the Smith Memorial Union building. Tickets can be purchased at the FoodWorx website.
