In a time when most newspapers are contracting, the Salem Statesman-Journal says it’s expanding. It’s adding 60 pages a week of local and national news. Part of that content is a special insert of USA Today–they’re calling it a “newspaper within a newspaper.” Gannett owns both the Statesman-Journal and USA Today.
