I’ve wanted to discuss the topic of duos and duets on the show so last Thursday I was joined by one of Portland’s best duo’s, Fox and Bones. Scott Gilmore and Sarah Vitort brought in a collection of songs for our PDX Spotlight Playlist, that represented a broad scope of artists for this shows topic. I’ve been lucky enough to interview both Scott and Sarah twice before Thursday’s broadcasts so this makes them the first artists that I have sat down with three times. At the top of the show I presented them with the tongue in cheek “Founding members of the three-timers club” certificates.
Like some of the artists on our playlist both Scott and Sarah have other musical endeavors but as a duo find something unique in this new songwriting process. “It’s really nice for me to be able to get out of my stubborn nature and learn some new harmonies… so it’s pushing me in a really nice direction” Scott said when talking about working with Sarah on their new single Gravity.
Fox and Bones are currently working with Justin Phelps at The Hallowed Halls to complete their self-titled EP. The duo also shared exciting details about their upcoming European tour. I was lucky enough to have them play three live songs, one of which was the new single, Gravity.
