On this episode of the show we were joined by musician, producer, and recording engineer Gene Blank. I always appreciate it when guests drop by to share new music on the show and this week we had the honor of debuting Gene’s new single, The Thief.
Jen Emerson and I had the opportunity to chat with Gene about the creation of the new single featuring local artists Joshua ‘Fiji’ Rehanek from ADDverse Effects, vocalist Alana Ranes, and recording artist Berahmand. Gene is the owner and operator of Acorn Sound Production House which was based in Portland for the last year but recently relocated back to Brooklyn, New York. During its time here, Acorn Sound Production House worked with the MOGO music festival, PDX Spotlight, and recently Gene mixed the debut record by local favorites, ADDverse Effects. We spoke about these experiences, the Portland music scene , and his approach to music production.
Please enjoy the podcast and be sure to download your copy of the The Thief.
At my core, I am a musician, songwriter, producer, studio owner/engineer, and, most importantly, a lover of all things music. It is my goal to help connect listeners to local artists. I believe we should all be searching for the next thing that inspires us.
I am originally from Arizona, where over many years, I played in several different independent bands in the Phoenix and Tucson areas. I put in many, many hours of grassroots-style promotion in order to get my bands heard. I am excited to be a part of Portland Radio Project where I can provide an avenue to local Portland musicians to share their art.
