On this special episode of Sounds of PDX, recording artist Rob Daiker joined me to debut his brand-new album, Binary Affairs. Rob’s latest release is packed with memorable hooks, powerful lyrics, and a handful of phenomenal guest musicians.
As we close in on the end of the year I felt it was appropriate that Rob and I listen to some of our favorite releases from 2016. The PDX Spotlight playlist featured The Fame Riot, Huntar, David Bowie, The Naked and Famous, and many more great artists.
The highlight of the evening for me was the second hour as we listened to Binary Affairs from start to finish. Rob gave the listeners and I some insight into recording, songwriting, and the balance of being an artist and producer. Binary Affairs on Nia Sounds is available to download, December 16th.
Please enjoy my interview with Rob and the entirety of Binary Affairs!
At my core, I am a musician, songwriter, producer, studio owner/engineer, and, most importantly, a lover of all things music. It is my goal to help connect listeners to local artists. I believe we should all be searching for the next thing that inspires us.
I am originally from Arizona, where over many years, I played in several different independent bands in the Phoenix and Tucson areas. I put in many, many hours of grassroots-style promotion in order to get my bands heard. I am excited to be a part of Portland Radio Project where I can provide an avenue to local Portland musicians to share their art.
