In the mood for new music that’s restorative and refreshing? “Almost,” the new release from Indie-pop The Ophelias, might just tickle your earbuds.

From Cincinnati, the band formed in high school and were signed by Joyful Noise Recordings. “Almost” is their second album and it reverberates with expert musicianship.

Its plaintive lyrics notwithstanding, opening track “Fog” imparts fun nostalgia.

Second track “General Electric” showcases balanced composition, airy, uplifting harmonies and expressive, creative drums.

The Ophelias are: Spencer Peppet on guitar; Grace Weir, bass; Andrea Gutmann Fuentes, violin; and Micaela Adams, percussion.

“Bird,” the album’s shortest track, is creative and lush. Their moonlit “Night Signs” bursts with pensive beauty and well-placed musical touches.
