Portland Radio Project is proud to announce that we are in this years Willamette Week’s Give!Guide – Portland’s easiest path to end-of-the year giving!   Give!Guide is Willamette Week’s annual effort to raise funds for — and draw attention to — the good works of local nonprofits.

We love your support any time of the year but donate to PRP between November 1 & December 31 and get more bang for your buck with fun incentives!   Plan out your giving – pay attention to designated Big Give Days – and score movie passes, concert tickets, holiday pies (that’s right, we said 🥧) and more (Give!Guide has some incredible incentives too!).  PLUS we’ll have some matching donation opportunities along the way!

We’ve got awesome business and nonprofit partners for this years Give!Guide:

PRP’s set a BIG goal – $20,000 – which will help us move toward station upgrades including new equipment to take our Drop-In Sessions and Community Voices platforms on the road! We’ll also work toward finding more ways to recognize & support our local music community with live events, open mic nights and more!

We’ve had a lot to celebrate this year…PRP turned 10!  Yep, we’re double digits now.  PRP has been streaming live since October 18, 2013 and in partnership with We Make the Media, PRP launched FM service at 99.1 on May 22, 2015. Along the way, we’ve honed in on our mission of supporting local musicians, other nonprofits and small businesses, all the while continuously aligning our organization with increasingly diverse communities in the Portland area.

How do we do all that?  We’re glad you asked…

  • Bringing spotlight to other nonprofits with our Community Voices platform
  • Offering local musicians on air opportunities through Drop-In Sessions
  • Producing podcasts that bring light to the issues affecting our community
  • Extending on air space to high school and college student produced programming
  • Curating live shows that explore our local music community, the history of music and everything in between
  • Airing 1067 local artists – one every 15 minutes

As we look to the next 10 years of PRP, our plan is to grow our existing platforms while continually pivoting as technology and circumstance dictate.  To do that, we will need your support and donating during Give!Guide is a great place to start. It’s inevitable that equipment needs replacing and software will need updating; we live in a technologically driven world, right? However, for PRP, the next 10 years is also about continuing our service to YOU because we are YOUR commercial-free community media resource.
