The Portland Playlist filled the studio Wednesday night when 9 of the 19 member band, Stumptown Soul, came to the studio to give a preview of their upcoming benefit concert and toy drive for Shriners Hospitals for Children.  The 3rd annual Stumptown Soul Holiday Spectacular is a holiday music extravaganza featuring some of the Pacific Northwest’s biggest names in jazz, blues, and soul. What began over a shared love of holiday music and a desire to spread joy to children in the hospital has grown since its inception at Mississippi Pizza to the Star Theater. It will be held Saturday, December 10th at Star Theater. Tickets can be found here.

The band, comprised of Dan Berkery, Jennifer Smieja, Michael Quinby, Aundria Lauren, Mark Bowden, Steve Kerin, Lefty Head, Tim Shaughnessy, and Jim Wolfe performed six songs that will also be performed at the event. These holiday songs offer elements of jazz, rock, blues, and some sounds straight out of Louisiana that will entice you to dance and sing along.
