Oregon Zoo vets are caring for three orphaned black bear cubs until they’re healthy enough to travel to a new home in Texas. The three are about a month old and weigh only two to three pounds. State wildlife officials brought the cubs to the zoo on Friday. They believe logging operations scared the cubs’ mother off.
Orphaned triplet babies seem to be proliferating at the zoo; the veterinary medical center is already caring for three orphaned cougars.
