In the market for new tunes to help keep you going through life’s ups and downs?
Here’s a quick round-up of music from three local artists you’re sure to love.
Portland’s Bees in a Bottle
Portland band Bees in a Bottle are releasing a new album this month.
“The Sun Left and Took the Moon with it” promises to be 11 tracks of lovely, ambient, indie rock.
Here at PRP we’re playing “Jealous Mistress.” It’s the first track off the new album, and has a great guitar riff!
The inspiration behind the song?
“This track address fame in the music industry, and how it can tear apart a relationship,” says musician Christine McAllister, who started writing songs in the middle of the pandemic.
Jealous Mistress
“The whole album was inspired by the stories of women who lost the rockstar men they loved to suicide or addiction,” she adds.
Their new release was recorded at the Hallowed Halls recording studio in SE Portland, and is set to release April 14.
Closing track “You Belong” is about holding on to meaning and connection in the world. It’s another standout track.

Portland’s The Noted
The Noted released “The Lucky Ones” just last year. The popular five member band is known for their finely crafted pop rock with tender lyrics and soaring harmonies.
“We hope our songs take them on a comfortable but unpredictable musical journey,” says lead guitar player and frontman Daniel Work.
“The Lucky Ones” is on our playlist!
The Lucky Ones
The Noted are working on a new, full-length album, tentatively titled “Shadows in the Rain.”
It’s set to drop later this year.
