Last week on the show we had special guests Kaiya On The Mountain stop in to talk about their debut EP, Talking Wild. The topic for our show was “Debut Records” so we got to hear a handful of great songs on our PDX Spotlight Playlist. Along with the selections that the band brought in, we listened to the “Talking Wild” EP in its entirety during the second hour.
Jen Emerson, Madlen Wittenstein, and I sat down with the Alt-Folk Rock group just a week before the release of their new EP. Alongside great conversation, the members of the group provided a handful of hilarious stories and insight into their creative process.
Please enjoy our interview with Kaiya On The Mountain.
At my core, I am a musician, songwriter, producer, studio owner/engineer, and, most importantly, a lover of all things music. It is my goal to help connect listeners to local artists. I believe we should all be searching for the next thing that inspires us.
I am originally from Arizona, where over many years, I played in several different independent bands in the Phoenix and Tucson areas. I put in many, many hours of grassroots-style promotion in order to get my bands heard. I am excited to be a part of Portland Radio Project where I can provide an avenue to local Portland musicians to share their art.
