You can take the boy out of Portland, but you can’t take Portland out of the boy. Jake left for Los Angeles to pursue acting. Instead, music pursued Jake.
JAKE LONDON’S “RUNAWAY HEART”
Jake’s debut album is so fresh sounding, I have a difficult time believing he hasn’t been playing since kid days. He told me in our recent conversation, that he always loved music. Made mix-tapes for friends, turning them on to all kinds of sounds. But it wasn’t until after the move to LA, that he finally picked up that battered acoustic guitar he brought along for company. And Jake insists he is an “old soul”. I can hear it. In his music style, and his voice. So comfortable and yet with a fresh perspective is the way “Runaway Heart” works its magic on me.
Two shows to look forward to, here in Portland. I could tell from our conversation, that Jake’s heart is still in Portland. Lucky us.
