When We Met dropped by the PRP studio – on Sounds of PDX – to talk new tunes, revisiting music after a bit of a hiatus and all things dreamy, gritty indie music. And YES cats 🐈 slipped into the convo (with a reason, we promise!)

“Past Lives” is the local duo’s latest album release (mixed and co-produced with Larry Crane at Jackpot! Recording Studio). Not long before that 9 song collection hit the streets, When We Met transformed New Order’s iconic synth dance track “Bizarre Love Triangle” into a hypnotic dream pop experience like only Melissa and Bryan could do – you gotta take a listen to that here!

During our drop-in session, we heard a live stripped down version of “Skinwalker Ranch” (and all the backstory that brought it to life). Check out that stand-up bass ⬅️

When We Met had an in-store performance and signing at Music Millennium not long after our interview and raffled off a Fender acoustic guitar to benefit House of Dreams – if you missed the raffle, you can still support kitty dreams by checking out their website.  MEOW!

If you missed the duo’s Music Millennium gig, follow them on social media (Instagram) and make a point of catching them live sooner vs later.  But if you need a little fix now, listen to our drop-in session ⬇️ – it’s always wonderful to reminisce and re-connect with ALL of our local musicians but especially these two 🫂
