Soulful R&B artist Rachel Wong dropped by the PRP studio for our latest Sounds of PDX drop-in session; she brought the 90’s vibe with her latest single and we are here for it!
Rachel says it like it is – I’m a Pop R&B independent artist, Asian American, Queer mom trying to make music on my own – and we learned how this singer/songwriter not only got her start in music but eventually found her voice.
She’s expertly belted out the National Anthem at a Trailblazers game – to a crowd of 20K no less – and calls herself a “boring mom” but she sure can write a love song. We heard her latest “No More Tears” along with “Simple Love”…swoon!
Take a listen to our interview below and then go BUY her music – Rachel is a beautifully open spirit and we are so grateful that she’s making the music she makes!
This Drop-in Session was made possible in part by grants from the Oregon Cultural Trust, RACC and The Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation.
