Drop-In Session: Tyler Stenson

Tyler Stenson is known for his signature “Elegant Folk” stylings but during his formative years honing a style, a music listening party one single night changed Tyler’s songwriting forever. Here’s what lit the spark.

Actually Tyler includes Josh Ritter in that above equation as well. But to the point, earlier in the journey to becoming a songwriter, one night of listening to Counting Crows music and it completely changed his songwriting approach forever, says Tyler. And he adds, that in an effort to try out something new and different in the new year, he is putting his own “Elegant Folk” aside for one night, and taking time to pay homage to his all-time biggest influence.

Steven welcomes Tyler in for a Drop-In Session to catch up on how Adam Duritz and his band lit the spark so brightly for Tyler. And you will hear a Counting Crows song as well as a Stenson original in the session below. Details on the show at the bottom of this page.
