A southeast Portland store, AstronautSaint Records, is offering signed collectors albums, posters, merchandise, and more in their on-line charity auction to help support the work of The Jeremy Wilson Foundation.

The Jeremy Wilson Foundation, a Portland institution, provides emergency assistance to local musicians, industry workers, and their families during times of medical or other unexpected crises. The JWF helps artists and their families to find local, state, and federal aid; navigate healthcare systems and awards cash grants to qualified applicants. In past years, you’ve probably attended a show in Portland that was donating proceeds to the JWF. Unfortunately, this year, with concerts almost completely shut down, the organization has experienced a substantial funding gap. Simultaneously, the COVID-19 pandemic has put unprecedented demand on the foundation, with requests for assistance at an all-time high.

AstronautSaint Records is a family business in Southeast Portland run by Mathew and Sarah. They provide LPs from indie labels to vinyl lovers in Portland and beyond. Open for just over one year, Mathew and Sarah sell music they love, both on-line and occasionally at a (COVID-compliant) pop-up  outdoor store. Concerned about Portland artists in a year when so many cannot perform or earn a living in the usual ways, the couple is lending a hand by hosting an on-line charity auction for The JWF. They have secured merchandise, albums, and artwork from labels and bands.

Bidding is open from now until March 31, 2021. You have the chance to bid on and possibly win:

The Postal Service – Give Up – 10 Year Anniversary album – autographed – out of print

Murder By Death – The Other Shore – Kickstarter edition – out of print

There’s more, including signed copies of the album, “I’m With You,” from Williams Elliot Whitmore, and  other merchandise and albums from Bloodshot Records, Merge Records, Sub Pop Records, PolyVinyl Records, and Rocket Heart Records.

If you love vinyl, this is an opportunity to add to your collection while helping a great cause: our local music community. AstronautSaint Records’ Charity Auction for the JWF Musician Health and Services Program.

Jamie Drakos, of PRP’s NW Honky Tonk, spoke with Mathew Fromm of AstronautSaint Records about the auction, The JWF, and their store. Listen to the interview below.

Thank you to The Jeremy Wilson Foundation for all you do, and thank you AstronautSaint Records for giving us a great way to support them in this time of need.
