Recently, local hip-hop favorites, ADDverse Effects, stopped by Sounds of PDX to chat with us about their new album and plans for 2017!

ADDverse Effects started with Josh “Fiji” Rehanek, Boyd Littel, and, Benja Farber in the middle of the country – Oklahoma City to be precise. At the urging of their label, they moved to Portland and took the socially-conscious hip hop scene by storm. After an incredibly generous return on a Kickstarter campaign, which exceeded their expectations, the band will soon release their 13 track debut album ‘A Good Problem To Have.’ When Luke Neill and Jen Emerson sat down with Josh and part of the rest of the band, they talked of their take on the PDX hip hop scene, Hive Mind Collective and about working with Gene Blank at Acorn Sounds Production House. They offered great insight into how they created their sound and what they hope to achieve. We played songs by their influences, as well as 6 ADDverse tracks that any hip hop fan will not want to miss.
