Supporters of an Oregon ballot initiative to allow businesses to refuse services to gay weddings on religious objections say they’ll “very likely” appeal its official title to the state Supreme Court. Friends of Religious Freedom, the initiative’s main backer, tells the Oregonian that Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum’s choice of title will make it harder for them to gather enough signatures to put the measure on the ballot.

The official ballot title is now: “Religious belief” exceptions to anti-discrimination laws for refusing services, other, for same-sex ceremonies, “arrangements”, wording very similar to what opponents of the measure wanted. Friends of Religious Freedom objects to using the word “discrimination.” They say it creates a stigma.
