It’s a musical spectacle that words can’t properly describe. I’m going to try anyway; at least for a couple of paragraphs.

I’m one of many Portlanders who share a birthday with this breathtakingly unique and colorful group of talented musicians, singers, dancers, gymnasts, and miscellaneous performers.

March Fourth bills itself as “a kaleidoscope of musical and visual energy that inspires dancing in an atmosphere of celebration.” Trust me, as someone who’s seen a number of March Fourth shows at the Crystal Ballroom, the quoted hype above is not just a clever shameless promotional riff.

I will admit, though. Since March Fourth and I share a special day (The band is 11-years-old this year. I am slightly older), I may be biased.

Enough of my words. Feel and hear March Fourth’s magic.

According to the band’s website, tickets are still available for both birthday shows. I’ll be there, acting anything but my age.

But, if you’d rather sit home and dance in your living room, a live stream is available.

Check www.marchfourthmarchingband.com for details on tickets and the live stream.
