Music Team

Forrest is a broadcaster, DJ, and record collector transplanted to Portland, although not far from his original roots in the Pacific Northwest. After studying opera and music production at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Forrest put his passion for music to work at nonprofit Make.Shift, where he eventually helped launch their community radio station KZAX.

When he wasn’t in the studio training volunteers to broadcast or curating grassroots music and talk programming, Forrest could often be found behind the counter of Avalon Records until the day the shop burned down. Brief periods with the Northern-most Everyday Music and a local commercial news radio station followed before Forrest made his way to the Rose City. Since, he has broadcasted with three Portland stations, served behind the counter at Music Millennium, and provided his A/V expertise to several events, one of which including Biden’s visit to Portland in 2022.

As he continues to engage with the community, Forrest is always seeking ways to put his experience to use.
