This year’s Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival was especially poignant for many festival-goers. With the loss of Janice Scroggins, earlier this Spring, it was easy to spot a big and empty space on so many stages.
The Many Flavors and Languages of Gospel and Soul
The final day of the Waterfront Blues Festival was filled with any number of sounds. Zydeco, R&B, Blues, Soul. From Juke Joint to Your Old Time Gospel Hour courtesy of Linda Hornbuckle. After the show, both Linda and LaRhonda Steele shared a few moments to talk about the power of Gospel Music in their lives, and what Janice brought to each of their musical and personal lives, as well.
