Petit Dejeuner Club
Sundays: 10 am
Petit Dejeuner Club is a weekly show that features a breakfast blend of music from around the world.
The playlists are French-focused, and heavily influenced by”Yé-yé,” a style of pop music popularized in France in the early 1960s. The Yé-yé genre found stylistic inspiration from Baroque, Eastern, jazz and French chanson genres, and its echoes are still heard in today’s modern music scene.
The show fuses Yé-yé-inspired music with complementary genres like Samba, Tropicalia, Funk, and all things groovy.
Petit Dejeuner Club is hosted by Brooke Carlson, a self-proclaimed Francophile, and lover of community radio. Brooke has been exploring international genres of music for several years and fell in love with Yé-yé after hearing Françoise Hardy’s 1962 album, “Tous les garcons et les filles.” When she’s not spinning tracks at PRP, Brooke does communications and social media for the Department of Transportation.
Grab a coffee and a croissant and tune into Petit Dejeuner Club every Sunday at 10 am.
