For the sixth consecutive year, Portland Center Stage is presenting the irreverent one-Elf show, The Santaland Diaries. Based on the true chronicles of David Sedaris’ experience as “Crumpet the Elf” inside the Santaland Display of Macy’s flagship store in New York City, this cult classic riffs on a few of Sedaris’ exceptionally odd encounters during the height of the holiday crunch.
In 2012, Darius Pierce became “Crumpet” in the PCS production, and the veteran actor sports his candy cane elf leotard loudly and proudly in PCS’ Ellyn Bye Studio.
Spoiler alert: Crumpet is wearing a brand-spanking-new hat in this years’ performance.
