The Portland Playboys, a swinging mix of the Stolen Sweets’ boy parts — David Langenes, Keith Brush and Pete Krebs — with Portland’s hotshot country instrumentalists Rusty Blake and Ian Miller, serve up a heady dose of western swing and hillbilly boogie. Their sound harkens back to the late 40’s and early 50’s sounds of Bob Wills’ Texas Playboys and Spade Cooley’s band, a hot mix of country and jazz, just right for swing dancers and fans of vintage music alike.
