Our local network of shelter and service providers are featured on Community Voices this week as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Here, Fay Schuler, Executive Director of the West Women’s and Children’s Shelter tells the story of a young mother in her late 20s who fled a violent home and lived on Portland-area streets with her four children. After seeking shelter at West Women’s, the family is in housing, her children are in school, and she is undergoing chemical-dependency treatment.
