A few days before the release of his full length LP, Into Oblivion, Kevin Hahn gave us a behind-the-scenes look at the new record. In addition to being an accomplished vocalist, guitarist, and singer songwriter, Kevin is the owner-operator of the highly acclaimed Opal Studio here in Portland.
On this week’s PDX Spotlight playlist, we debuted several tracks from Into Oblivion which was met with high praise on the Talk Board. My cohost, Jen Em asked Kevin where he draws his inspiration from and he spoke about the importance of trusting your intuition. “If there’s something you really wanna do – just do it. Do it every day!” said Hahn. Kevin also spent some time talking about his role as a music producer versus a recording artist.
Listen to the podcast below to hear more about Kevin’s influences, theories on songwriting, and his thoughts on the Portland music scene.
