After seeing Emily Aldridge live for the first time at a Woman Crush Music showcase, I invited her to hang out with me on the program to talk about her music, influences, and how she made her way to Portland. Emily’s influences may have been the most diverse I’ve had on the program spanning from Ani Difranco’s protest-driven Folk to the anthemic Prog Rock band, Between The Buried and Me. Our broadcast also included Emily’s original work as a solo artists and as the lead vocalist of the band Sacrifice to Survive. A highlight of the evening for me was when Emily played a few live tracks for our listeners. I can’t thank her enough for being on the show and sharing her stories.
