About a month after releasing Willow Baby, Tara Velarde joined me to talk about her creative process, new single, and played a few live songs for our listeners. In the first hour of the show we listened to Tara’s influences including Alabama Shakes, Regina Spektor, Sarah Watkins, and PHOX. Tara spoke about her songwriting and how her background in music education impacts her art. In the second hour we played Tara’s original music including her previous project, The Tara Novellas. After highlighting songs off of the Get Out And Walk EP we were treated to Tara’s live performance of Rose and Feel Like A Human. To close the broadcast we played her newest release, Willow Baby. We would like to thank Tara for sharing her stories and music with us.
